PAUL FRANK

Paul Frank began his art career while attending Orange Coast College (1993 to 1996) where he majored in fine art. Right away, he put his classes in drawing, color theory, and sculpting, to work as he taught himself how to sew and make bag patterns. Soon he became known locally for his skills as bag maker and applique artist.

Many of his first pieces were one of a kind and commissioned by individuals who wanted a handcrafted piece of his work. From there, the demand for his custom made accessories grew to large for him to handle by himself. Soon he formed a design company with friends that has, itself, become world renown.

His first gallery show was in February 2002 at the Copro-Nason gallery, entitled "one of a kinds." There he displayed handcrafted dolls of his well known characters as well has hand made wall clocks and appliqued wall art. The hit of the show was his custom painted Schwinn bikes that he made as a pretend stint with the Schwinn bicycle company.
