Sara Paloma Barrios is an emerging L.A. artist working primarily in clay. Born and raised in Orange County, California, she graduated from Cal State Long Beach in 1995 with a degree in Art Education and Ceramics. She has shown in many group exhibits throughout Southern California and has participated in the last four Burning Brush Auctions. In this exhibit, Sara continues her series of kitsch-inspired wall plaques that combine molded elements from flea market finds with hand sculpted forms, putting a new twist on a familiar genre. She has recently moved home and studio to Downtown Los Angeles and is currently working on her website that will feature her new line of white matte bottles, wall plaques and other functional pieces. |
