Tara McPherson is a painter and
freelance illustrator based out of Los Angeles. Painting about
people and their odd ways, Tara's characters seem to exude an
idealized innocence with a glimpse of hard earned wisdom in
their eyes. Recalling many issues from childhood and good old
life experience, she paints images that are thought provoking
and seducing. She also hand crafts her frames, utilizing various
types of power tools.
Her recent freelance work has
been for the cover of "Skratch" magazine, and an ad campaign
for a new perfume line called "Alchera" which is selling well
in London, and soon to be released in the U.S. late this year.
Tara's next exhibition will be
a four person show with Tim Biskup, Jeff Soto, and Craiger at
La Luz de Jesus Gallery in August. Also coming up in the future
- an article in Destroy All Monthly Magazine, an artist highlight
in Savage Magazine, a featured artist spot on the Zone 9 Pop
Up Gallery, and a group show early next year at 111 Minna Gallery.
Tara McPherson's paintings have been exhibited at the past three
Burning Brush Auctions, La Luz de Jesus Gallery, Blessing of
the Cars, The Cannibal Flower, and Headquarters Gallery.
