Bwana Spoons is an illustrator, designer, and painter based in Portland, Oregon. In addition to his artwork, Spoons also publishes and directs a zine called "Ain't Nothin' Like Fuckin' Moonshine" and a comic called "Soft Smooth Brain." His new comic, "Cobraboy and Cobragirl" premieres in Spring 2002. After, Spoons graduated from high school in Mendocino went to San Francisco for a bried stint at City College where we met amazing art friends such as Jimbo Matison and Chris Johanson. During this time, he would also draw the pictures for Dogtown Skateboards and play with his Micronauts, which he continues to do. He then launched "Moonshine" and steadily began showing his artwork. His recent work entails a prolifery of animals, robots, realism, and mythical subjects. He has been going crazy with stencils and continues to find new and unusual objects to paint on such as slabs of wood, old paint cans, and windowpanes. |
