A native Iowan and 1990 graduate of the University of Iowa, Kirsten Ulve began her career as a graphic designer and sometime illustrator in Chicago. in 1996 She packed off for NYC to devote herself to illustration full time. Since then she has worked in almost every arena of the field, ranging from fashion illustration to caricatures, animated commercials to advertising art, book illustration to product embellishment. Her clients include Entertainment Weekly, Cosmogirl, YM, Seventeen, Simplycity, Mattel, Popsicle, St. Martin’s Press, the Village Voice, Delia’s Annabelle Magazine of Switzerland, and Palty (Beauty products) of Japan. She exhibited her work at the CWC Gallery in Tokyo in the fall of 2000. Kirsten is currently developing a line of products (tote bags) for Loop design of NYC, and is polishing her writing skills in hopes of producing a book.
